HUFF COOK: 84 YEARS AND COUNTING

1930’s

In 1933, J.W. Huff and J.L. Dickenson recognized the growing need for quality burial plans and services for the community of southwest Virginia and eastern Tennessee.  As a result of their vision Huff-Cook Mutual Burial Association was realized.

1930’s

Huff Cook traces its roots back to its founders Mr. J. W. Huff and Mr. J. L. Dickenson in 1933. The Huff Cook Mutual Burial Association was formed in an effort to provide low cost burial policies and pay for funeral and final expense costs for its members.

1960’s

As the popularity of television grew, Huff-Cook delivered inspiration and encouragement with Jack Harmon as its jovial host on the “Gospel Sing”. Developed and broadcast every Sunday for 23 years, this hour long, live gospel show, was instrumental in bringing Huff-Cook directly into the homes of its members and community while creating a loyal bond between them.
